Commemoration Ceremony of Pashto Film Legend Badar Munir’s 17th Death Anniversary

 



MARDAN : A grand ceremony was held at Nishtar Hall, Peshawar, to mark the 17th death anniversary of the renowned and legendary Pashto film actor Badar Munir. The event was organized by the All Pakistan Badar Munir Federation in collaboration with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA).

The ceremony was attended by prominent figures from the fields of art and culture, including senior actor Asif Khan, actor and director Ajab Gul, director Qaiser Sanober, Chairman of the All Pakistan Badar Munir Federation Javed Yousafzai, Akbar Hoti Advocate (Cultural Secretary of Awami National Party), poet Hashmat Javed, showbiz writer and author Haji Aslam Khan, poet and author Sardar Ghamzan, actors Bahadur Ali, Gul Taj, actresses Aini Khan and Saeeda Khan, singer Wisal Khayal, Badar Munir’s son and actor Saeed Munir, actor Jamal Afridi, actor Naseem Pehlwan, and officials from the KP Culture and Tourism Authority.

During the ceremony, the speakers shed detailed light on Badar Munir’s artistic journey, his services to the film industry, and his pivotal role in the development of Pashto cinema. They noted that Badar Munir was not only the first superstar of the Pashto film industry but also an artist who gave identity and prestige to Pashto cinema through his exceptional acting, hard work, and sincerity.

Speakers emphasized that Badar Munir’s personality influenced an entire era and illuminated the path for future generations. They described him as a principled, hardworking, and patriotic artist who played a vital role in promoting Pashtun culture through his work.

The participants urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to establish a cultural award or a memorial in Badar Munir’s name, to inspire and encourage young artists to follow in his footsteps.

The ceremony concluded with a special prayer for the late Badar Munir.
