MARDAN: A landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Malik Foundation, a non-governmental organization, and the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Mardan for a Skills Development Program aimed at empowering youth, creating employment opportunities, and enabling active participation in the digital economy.
This partnership marks a joint initiative to provide the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with world-class technical, vocational, and digital training, equipping them with the necessary skills to compete in both national and international job markets.
The MoU was signed by Mufti Qasim Hashmi, Secretary Skills Development of Malik Foundation, and Syed Nauman, Chief Executive Officer of NIT Mardan. The signing ceremony was attended by Mufti Abdul Qayum (Vice Chairman, Malik Foundation), Engineer Syed Sher Shah (President), and Core Member Naveed Ali.
According to the agreement, students—both male and female—will receive training in modern fields such as English Language, Computer Courses, Amazon, Shopify, Freelancing, and Digital Marketing. The program’s objective is not only to make young people proficient in technology but also to prepare them to move forward with self-reliance, professionalism, and entrepreneurial vision.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mufti Qasim Hashmi stated:
“Digital skills are the greatest need of the present era. Malik Foundation is determined to make the young generation self-sufficient through modern and practical training.”
Meanwhile, NIT CEO Syed Nauman said:
“This partnership will not only brighten the future of our students but also bring a positive change to the economy of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”
Vice Chairman Mufti Abdul Qayum added:
“Our goal is to provide youth with both education and practical training so that they become job creators, not job seekers.”
Representatives termed the agreement a historic milestone for youth empowerment, the promotion of freelancing culture, and the strengthening of the digital economy.
Through this program, hundreds of students from Mardan and surrounding areas will receive quality training, enabling them to explore new work opportunities at both local and international levels.
